Let’s be honest. Dressing for work can be a little vanilla sometimes. That’s why we’ve put together this style guide for you! Here are wardrobe staples every working woman needs in her closet. This guide is for a more conservative dress-code, but observe what other people are wearing, and adjust accordingly.
Cigarette Pants and Paper Bag Slacks
Slacks don’t have to be ugly! We love these two options because they’re flattering on female bodies, and because they add a little bit of spice to more professional looks. You can thank us later.
Black Skirts
First of all, black skirts are like salt; they go with everything, and you’ll always need them. Many ladies opt for pencil skirts, but for those of us who don’t prefer a slim cut, a looser fitting circle skirt works nicely. Pro tip: office appropriate skirts are usually no shorter than 4 inches above the knee. If you want to avoid a matronly silhouette, we advise ditching mid-calf length skirts (unless they’re hecka cute)!
Jumpsuits or Matching Suit Set
Um… yes! These will never NOT be out! To make jumpsuits work appropriate, we suggest layering with a ¾ Halftee, a Bell Sleeve Halftee, or a feminine white button down.
Blazers and Cardigans
It’s always chilly in the office, so bring something to layer up. You won’t be doing yourself a disservice— Studies from Fortune 500 companies have shown that both blazers and cardigans are smiled upon in the working world.
Blouses
Girl, this is your time to shine! Find blouses with textures, and colors that are you. Try to avoid loud patterns or colors if you work somewhere with a more conservative dress code. Also... we know you own a white blouse. PSA: Wear a nude Tank Halftee underneath so your bra doesn’t show through.
Shoes
In general, shoes should usually be closed toed. You’ll rock any outfit if you have a brown pair, a black pair, and low pumps you love.
Dresses
We’re about dresses! Remember to add a Halftee to get more coverage so you can be office ready.
Working from Home
We all know the ‘Rona has us a little more lax in our working wear. If you’re currently working from home, we advise you to cozy it up! Check out this Boyfriend Halftee under a lounging jumpsuit! P.S. We have a very limited amount of these slippers left in stock, so if your feet need a vacation, shop now!
