Black is my go-to color to wear because it is so easy to style. But as the weather is getting warmer, I find myself having more of a desire to wear colors. Even though I work at a clothing company, I really don’t know that much about fashion. So, I am writing this more for myself than anything! Here are 5 easy ways to add more color to your wardrobe this spring and summer:
1. Wear Muted Colors
Just because I want to wear more colors does not mean that I am ready to wear an all-red outfit or neon-green pants. An easy way to ease into wearing more colors is to add some muted colors to your outfit. Add a dark blue or light pink to your neutral color clothes.
2. Add Colored Shoes and Accessories
I buy all black shoes because they match all my black clothes, but occasionally buying colorful shoes and accessories is a fun way to add a pop of color. It is also an easy way to see if you like wearing a certain color without needing to wear a lot of it.
3. Pair a Halftee With Your Outfit
Adding a colored Halftee is the easiest way for me to add color to my wardrobe! Halftees come in all colors, and because they only cover from the bust up, I don’t have to worry about adding extra bulk or heat.
4. Learn What Colors Match Together
I love that black matches everything so I never have to think about it, but pairing colors together stresses me out! Since I have found this color chart, it has helped me discover what colors to wear together. Now I feel so much more comfortable wearing multiple colors.
5. Try Colorful Pattern Clothing Items
My husband loves wearing tie-dye shirts, now I am not yet ready to go that extreme with color, but different color patterns can be fun to add to your wardrobe. Also pairing colors with patterns is easy and super in right now.
Have fun expanding your wardrobe!
